Palworld Wiki

Palworld 1.0 is available now. Pocketpair moved the game out of Early Access on July 10, 2026, with a major update that adds 72 Pals, the floating islands of Sunreach, the World Tree endgame area, a level cap of 80, new Awakening and Mutation systems, and broad changes to combat, bases, multiplayer, progression, graphics, and performance.

The update does not require a save wipe. Existing saves can continue, although Pocketpair recommends starting a new character if you want to experience the redesigned story and progression from the beginning.

Palworld 1.0 release date and time

Pocketpair's official release date for Palworld 1.0 is July 10, 2026. The studio's “out now” announcement appeared shortly after 03:00 UTC on July 10. Depending on your region and time zone, the Steam store may display July 9 as the release date.

The official changelog does not provide one universal preload or unlock time for every platform and region, so the announcement time should not be treated as a precise worldwide unlock time.

How much does Palworld 1.0 cost?

Pocketpair did not raise Palworld's standard price for the 1.0 release. The regular US price remains $29.99.

When this article was checked on July 10, Steam listed Palworld at $20.99 in the United States and CNY 75.60 in China. The US promotional price is 30% below the regular price. Steam pricing is regional and promotions can expire, so check the Palworld Steam store for the current price in your country.

72 new Pals bring the total to 287

Palworld 1.0 adds 47 new Pals and 25 variant Pals, for 72 additions in total. The complete Pal roster now contains 287 creatures.

The new Pals are spread across Sunreach, the World Tree, and other revised regions. Pocketpair also reworked Partner Skills for more than 200 existing Pals, added new passive skills, changed habitat and spawn-level distribution, and introduced more than 100 new motions for existing Pals.

Many Partner Skill effects no longer stack when multiple copies of the same Pal are placed in a party. New skill combinations instead support more specialized weapon, element, status-effect, fishing, and base-work builds. Older “best Pal” and team-building guides therefore need to be tested again.

Sunreach and the World Tree

Sunreach

Sunreach is a new group of islands floating above Palpagos. It has its own civilization, new Pals, tower bosses, and resources that require specialized mining equipment. The new ore Soralite can only be mined in Sunreach and is used for new crafting and building content.

The World Tree

The World Tree is now central to Palworld's story and its biggest endgame challenge. It contains the exclusive ore Paloxite, Ancient Civilization Relics, and Radiant Gems used by the new Awakening system.

The rest of the map also received substantial changes. Version 1.0 adds ancient ruins, watchtowers that reveal the surrounding map and become fast-travel points, seven small islands across volcano, desert, and ruin biomes, new settlements, sea-based enemy outposts, and redesigned Wildlife Sanctuaries.

Level 80 and a reworked story

The player level cap rises from 65 to 80, with additional ancient-civilization technologies to unlock. Main missions and the overall story flow have been reorganized so that exploration, tower bosses, Sunreach, and the journey to the World Tree connect more clearly.

Pocketpair also added connected sub-missions, new NPCs, and more journals. Main- and sub-mission progress is reset where reward changes require it, although some tutorial and tower-boss missions are automatically marked complete based on existing boss-clear history.

Awakening and Mutation change Pal progression

Awakening

Awakening lets players push a favorite Pal beyond its previous limits. Radiant Gems found within the World Tree are the key resource for unlocking that hidden power.

Mutation

Mutation adds a low chance for breeding to produce a Pal stronger than the normal result. Pals born from mutated eggs can have higher stats and a unique passive skill.

Four new cakes let players influence breeding outcomes:

  • Mushroom Cake slightly raises the chance of higher stats.
  • Vegetable Cake produces two Pal Eggs at once.
  • Deluxe Vegetable Cake raises the chance of mutations and stronger stat growth.
  • Special Cake raises the chance of inheriting multiple passive skills from the parents.

These systems make breeding more important in the 1.0 endgame, but they also mean that older optimized breeding routes may no longer be ideal.

Combat, weapons, and equipment

Player movement was rebuilt with smoother motions, while mounted controls, shooting, dashing, weapon switching, and skill cancellation were improved. Pals now have a dedicated attack command, tower bosses have been revised, wild Pal behavior is more varied, and new active skills have been added.

Version 1.0 also adds:

  • A Wing Pack for aerial movement.
  • A Plasma Multicutter for harvesting.
  • 13 new weapons and more weapon slots.
  • New armor, accessories, and disposable implants.
  • Soralite and Paloxite equipment tiers.

Balance changes also affect experience, capture probability, gold, crafting costs, shops, rewards, research, technology, bosses, and high-difficulty content.

Base building, raids, and multiplayer

Base management is one of the largest parts of the 1.0 changelog. Pocketpair added building pieces, utility buildings, facility and crafting improvements, and a Work Suitability overhaul. Some Partner Skills can now raise the Work Suitability level of other base Pals, creating new base-team roles.

Raids and base defense have been redesigned, including a dedicated raid area and the Negotiator feature. Multiplayer additions include optional in-game voice chat on dedicated servers, guild improvements, longer chat history, improved server joining and password handling, Discord integration, and safer save processing.

Dedicated-server, world-object, memory, equipment, and open-world processing received optimization work. The patch also addresses multiplayer synchronization, crashes, memory leaks, pathfinding, loading failures, terrain, and UI issues.

What returning players should do before updating

  1. Back up important save data. This is especially important if the save has used mods.
  2. Remove old mods, not just disable them. Incompatible files can cause crashes, corruption, or missing data.
  3. Expect progression adjustments. Missions, boss locations, rewards, habitats, technologies, and balance have changed.
  4. Use Emergency Escape if an old save loads outside the map. Saves from v0.7.3 or earlier can appear beyond the updated world boundary.
  5. Consider a new character. A wipe is not required, but Pocketpair recommends a fresh start for the redesigned story and progression.

Is Palworld 1.0 worth returning for?

For players who stopped during Early Access, 1.0 is much more than a content drop. It reshapes the main story, progression, map, Pal balance, breeding, base work, combat controls, multiplayer, and presentation. Sunreach, the World Tree, 72 new Pals, and the level-80 endgame provide the visible headline features, but the broad system changes are what make this feel like a new starting point.

Players focused on optimized teams or bases should expect to rebuild parts of their strategy. Partner Skill stacking, Work Suitability, passives, breeding, capture balance, equipment, and progression have all changed enough that many old guides are now outdated.
