Palworld 1.0 Best Base Pals by Work Suitability

Build a stable 1.0 workforce by filling every required job, then improve bottlenecks with specialists, passives, condensation, and support skills.

Palworld Wiki

The best base team is not a list of the rarest Pals. It is a balanced workforce that covers every active station without creating transport, food, or pathing bottlenecks. Palworld 1.0 also changes Work Suitability and adds Partner Skills that can raise the suitability of other base Pals.

Use the live rankings

Static “best Pal” lists age quickly. Open the Kindling, Watering, Handiwork, and other Work Suitability pages to compare the current imported 1.0 levels. Then open each Pal detail page to check all secondary jobs; a supposed specialist may repeatedly leave its station for another task.

Specialists versus generalists

Use specialists for furnaces, assembly lines, crushers, generators, and other stations where one job controls the whole production chain. Use generalists for a small early base where every worker must cover several tasks. As the base grows, disabling unnecessary jobs and shortening travel paths often produces a larger gain than replacing every worker.

1.0 optimization order

  1. Cover food, planting, watering, gathering, and transport.
  2. Identify the station with the longest queue.
  3. Add or upgrade one specialist for that work type.
  4. Improve passives and condensation only after pathing is stable.
  5. Test new Partner Skill support effects with the exact base team you use.

A balanced production-base template

Start with enough planting, watering, and gathering to keep food independent. Add transporters so harvests and crafted items do not remain on the ground. Reserve specialist slots for kindling, handiwork, mining, lumbering, electricity, cooling, and medicine only when the corresponding station is active. A worker assigned to an unused job still eats, sleeps, and contributes to congestion.

Why the highest work level can still lose

Work level is important, but uptime determines output. A large Pal that repeatedly gets stuck, a daytime-only worker on a continuous line, or a generalist that changes jobs can produce less than a lower-level specialist with a short route. Compare completed items over a full in-game day rather than watching one crafting animation.

Base worker FAQ

Should every worker have four work-speed passives?

Only after the base layout and job assignment are stable. Movement, hunger, nocturnal activity, and Partner Skills may matter more for some roles.

Do I need the same best team at every base?

No. A mining outpost, breeding base, farm, and assembly base need different job coverage. Build each roster around its stations.

The official Palworld 1.0 changelog confirms the Work Suitability overhaul and the new support interactions. Because exact worker values live in the game data, this guide links to the site's generated rankings instead of hard-coding a fragile top-ten list.
